چکیده

Approximately 10 % of CO2 is emitted from an ordinary Portland cement production. In and concrete production, emissions can be greatly reduced by using Supplementary Cementitious Materials (SCMs). addition, the microstructure durability properties are improved when silica-rich SCMs used. this study, Eco-Friendly design was carried out three different SCMs. Diatomite, ground granulated blast furnace (GGBFS) fly ash (FA) were used as SCM in mixtures. instead at ratios 5, 10, 15, 20 wt %. When diatomite rate %, standard consistency water increased 1.7 times compared to reference mixture. With increase replacement ratio, final setting pastes increased. The high active SiO2 content shortened initial time compressive strength. use 5 slump value 57 Ve-Be tests GGBFS FA mixtures showed similar 28-day strength varied between 29.2–34.6 MPa. curing mixtures, up 50 improvements observed Especially on 180th day, a 44.1 MPa obtained with ratio. While abrasion properties, opposite result case GGBFS. It that closest As result, it determined could environmentally friendly

Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag

1. Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag (GGBFS) is a by product of the steel industry. Blast furnace slag is defined as “the non-metallic product consisting essentially of calcium silicates and other bases that is developed in a molten condition simultaneously with iron in a blast furnace.” [1] In the production of iron, blast furnaces are loaded with iron o...

Soil Stabilisation Using Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag

Stabilisation is a broad sense for the various methods employed and modifying the properties of a soil to improve its engineering performance and used for a variety of engineering works. In today‟s day soil stabilisation is the major problem for civil engineers, either for construction of road and also for increasing the strength or stability of soil and reduces the construction cost. In this t...

Stimulation Behaviour Study on Clay Treated with Ground Granulated Blast Slag and Groundnutshell Ash

The major decision in construction process involves the selection of suitable site with best soil conditions, as structure resides in the soil. Most problematic soils like expansive soils hardly proved to be the best engineering subgrade profile for pavement constructions. Thus, this has undeniably led to the soil improvement options accompanying the reduction in resource depletion and solid wa...

Properties of Cement Pastes Doped with Very High Amounts of Ground Granulated Blast-furnace Slag

In the current work, the properties of cement pastes doped with high amounts of ground granulated blast-furnace slag (HVS) were investigated. Portland cement (PC) was substituted with ground granulated blast-furnace slag (donated as slag) at very high amounts of 85%, 90%, 95% and 100%, by weight. PC paste without any content of slag was used as a reference. Some fresh and hardened properties su...

Studying the Hydration of a Retarded Suspension of Ground Granulated Blast-Furnace Slag after Reactivation

This article presents a combined use of a retarder (d-gluconic acid) and an alkaline activator (sodium hydroxide) in a binder system based on ground granulated blast-furnace slag. The properties of the retarder are extending the dormant hydration period and suppressing the generation of strength-giving phases. Different retarder concentrations between 0.25 and 1.00 wt.% regulate the intensity a...
